∆rctic part I was shot in the Norwegian provinces of North-Troms and Finnmark in 2018. Field recordings mixed with unique compositions established the soundscape for this piece.
A triangular cycle of creation, destruction and preservation has been constructed referencing matriarchal prehistory and inspired by the creation myths of Sámi.
The birth, death and re-birth of a nation, of a myth and of a woman.
Static shots of vast landscape combined with memories of long time ago. Associative collective remembrance. Female voices from another world. Phantom shots and phantom sounds are celebrating forgotten myths and an archaic womanhood.
